Hi all, it hasn't bothered me until recently but it become increasingly aware that PA for all the work they do do not have a strong brand, especially outside of consulting. Although I work for the firm, I have to hold my hands up and say that I didn't have an idea who they were when I applied and were originally my 'safety' but as I progressed through recruitment and got to know more about their people, work, culture, they soon became one of my top choices. My concern is that when I decide to leave I won't have brand capital on my CV. I am and could be doing great work but will those outside consulting recignise this? Is this a massive problem? How do those in different segments of consulting e.g. McK, Acc, Deloitte, view the PA brand and PA?

PA-ers either get head hunted by their clients, get jobs in other consulting firms (you'll be fine unless you want to go to Bain or McKinsey....), or get jobs on the basis of their clients or projectsDon't worry- its annoying, we could be both bigger and better than we are, but it isn't a career breaker....

Indeed, I put quite lengthy points on the grad applications thread but essentially the brand doesn't compete with the strat houses but post-PA careers will be almost exactly the same as your Accentures, Deloittes etc. of the world.
