I rate them quite highly. Then again, I did marry one, who was originally my boss! And before anyone asks, yes, she is still the boss and we don't communicate via powerpoint! :-)

Have a look at some of the postings on www2wk.com to get a better idea of which companies (including consultancies) are best employers for women. Few surprises: the big techy firms do badly, while the "softer" firms like PA come out much better.

Speculating here as I can't speak for all men, but I'd imagine they think much the same of male and female consultants.Like the ones who work hard.Dislike the ones who go home at 3:30 on the dot, even if it means walking out in the middle of a client meeting.Like the ones who work well in a team.Dislike the ones who throw tantrums whenever anyone asks them to do any work.Like the ones who can make polite conversation.Dislike the ones who insist on discussing their problems with their sexual organs over lunch.Like the ones who behave professionally and ethically.Dislike the ones who bill the client for time spent on personal phone calls, talking about celebrity Big Brother.Like the ones who respect each other's work-life balance in the way they plan and schedule work.Dislike the ones who put their personal work-life balance above all else and dump their work on colleagues.Like the ones who recognise ability and merit.Dislike the ones who play favourites with their friends, spread rumours about anyone they don't like, generally act politically and/or sleep with the boss.

Let me break the ice and give you a strong reality check partner. If ANY of the women that you work with display the behavious within your 'dislike' attributes then the firm you work for is a JOKE. The women I work for are all top notch, professional and astute - en par if not above the men here. I think its more a problem of your firm recruiting in the bottom of the toilet tank than the 'women' as a category having problems.
