This is to anyone who has knows about Mercer MC recruiting:I've just been rejected at the initial CV application stage. I applied for a grad position even though I just fall outside their criteria. They count grads as anyone within one year of graduation. I am about 15 months. I was wondering how strict this criteria is? Or should I be looking more closely at my CV? Unfortunately they do not give feedback, and this is something I stupidly forgot to ask them when I had the chance.

It's weird. I was rejected from Mercer at the Cv stage, then sent my CV in again, and got through.Makes no sense to me, but am trying BCG and Bain again asap!Moral of story - try and try again until you win or want to try something new.

I know something about Mercer MC recruiting, and I don't believe the 15 months would have caused your application to be rejected. Better to have a good look at your CV as you suggest - and I can have a look at it if you wish. Post an e-mail address of some sort in that case.To be perfectly frank, most firms have recruitment routines that are less impressive than you would think from the outside, and there is a chance that no-one would notice a resubmitted CV. If they did, however, they would probably be a little annoyed - but then since the processes are so ad-hoc anyway, it's not obvious that there's any blacklist to put your name on.

With regards to Mercer recruiting, I see that somebody has already been summoned to interview. . . .I sent in my application a day before the deadline, Thus I have an email asking for me to take a numerical test and critical analysis test online first. Is this the norm? Also, I have noticed that the link that they have given me leads to nowhere . . . Am I alone in this experience?

Raymond, the numeracy/verbal test is the first (screaning) part of your interview, if you're successful at that then you'll be called along for an interview. I think the deadline is today so you better get going with it. If the link provided doesn't work you should try and log into the account you created through their website when applying. If that doesn't work send an email to their tech support team (email address in your account) or call the HR manager that is dealing with your application. Good Luck (I found out I did not pass it 2 days ago!)

I applied to Mercer in Boston and was rejected. I applied 4 months later and before they got back to me I put on my suit and went in person and askied to speak to someone in recruitment. End result was I got to the final round. So totally agree with the comment of be persistent. FYI I have taken a total of three years off to travel and be a ski bum so I think you not getting an interview is due to the randomness of the process etc. not the 17 months.
