What a useless book.

Why? I was thinking of reading it? Is it not worthy??

Bit harsh. Though his second book (really an expanded version of the first, The McKinsey Mind) was an improvement.It does give a fairly accurate description of some of the basics of an problem solving approach for unstructured issues. It makes a pretty good piece of light relief to go alongside Minto.Of course I am sure our commentators above (Partners at McKinsey everyone) have nothing to learn. When I was starting out as a strat consultant it certainly helped clue me in - which is not to say of course that it should be read uncritically.

Look its a s*t book. It is literally a waste of time and money. He just goes on abt chinese take aways. You don't need to work at Mcckinsey to write such a book!

ooooh look at me I went to McKinsey I'm a friggin genius. Preachy stuff like this encapsulates the book. Avoid it.

So this book is rubbish...what books ARE good? are any consultancy books biblical or are they all just some schmuk trying to make a quick buck?
