Just trying to keep this thread alive in the hope that someone will notice it... :)

Someone I know works for Deloitte Consulting in Canada and has a job offer for Deloitte Consulting in the UK. They have to resign in Canada before accepting the UK job, so it seems less like a transfer process than completely separate businesses when you move internationally.

That might be because they really are totally separate businesses. I suppose you cannot directly transfer between two separate legal entities as you can only contract with one. The structure is quite complicated but it is a more a loose affiliation or network than a set of divisions or subsidiaries. This may be to prevent troubles in one causing the whole lot to collapse - ? Those who work there will know it is very naughty to refer to Deloitte as "the global firm"!

I also am interested in transferring from Deloitte Australia to Deloitte UK. Has anyone got any info about this? i.e. how long have people been employed at Deloitte before the transfer occurred? Got any info about work permits/sponsorship?
