Well it is late on a Saturday....- it should be "Hello" and not "hello".- the abbreviation "PC" has been used without definition- "one of UKs" should be "one of the UK's" (two errors)- "of the top schools" should be "one of the top schools."- "How is Delloite Consulting" should be "How is Deloitte Consutling?" (technically it should be Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu but we'll let that one go)Heigh-Ho.

Since we are clearly dealing with semantics, I beg to differ with your final point below. Deloitte in the UK is a member of Deloitte Touche Tomahtsu but does not trade under that name, and never has. Since 2004, the consulting practice hasn't even been Deloitte Consulting, merely 'Deloitte', plain and simple.

To: 'Why stop there'.1) Because you enumerate few points you should have used ':' after Saturday.2) You are NOT consistent: sometimes you use '.' at the end of the line and sometimes nothing. Generally you should have used commas as these are short points.3) 'Well' would have looked much better if you had written 'Well... it is (...)' or 'Well, it is (...)’.Besides, you should bear in mind that many readers on this Forum are foreigners and they might be less fluent with English than you.lucas

What is wrong w/ people on this message board? Why don't people answer the question originally asked? Why do people get stuck on grammar? Sure, it's not professional, but people just want questions answered, not their unprofessional grammar critiqued. They're not in a professional setting. If people can't ask less than perfectly intelligent questions in an anonymous and informal setting, then where can they? Point the way! I'll meet you there.

Agreed. I'm tempted to correct their grammar, but that would just exacerbate things. Original question: What's it like to work at Deloitte, UK?

I am the original 'anon' who said "It's Deloitte" but I'm not the other anons above.I was merely trying to be helpful by pointing out the correct name to the original poster as they had got it wrong twice (thus more likely to be their genuine misunderstanding than a typo). I hadn't meant to start a gramatical debate all weekend long. Don't you have anything better to do at weekends after all those long consulting hours you work? At the end of the day if your grammar and spelling are crap then you are unlikely to pass selection tests and you wont get the job so less competition for the rest of us. Good if you ask me!Can someone answer his/her question please? I would like to know more about Deloitte too, as I have applied to them.

I work for Deloitte in the UK as an SC. I'm not in operations but have worked closely with the guys from there, and having been at the firm for 5 months can report that I'm a pretty happy camper. The plusses:+ Generally good work/life balance (though with exceptions)+ Great people (far more affable that I've found elsewhere, very bright)+ A genuine focus on high-value strat-type work+ Interesting range of clients+ Great brand to work for, with cross-competency exposure and opportunities+ A good vibe, with an opt-in or opt-out social life (I've seen no pressure to get hammered 5 nights a week with colleagues)+ A UK-focused culture, no silly American 'be a tiger' adverts+ A true partnership, not an outsourcing-focused PLCMinuses:- A client list in some grim parts of the UK (esp. public sector work)- A relatively bureaucratic culture- Salaries not as high as ACN, for exampleI really rate this firm, having worked at other big-5 consultancies.

Don't believe the ACN hype. They have a recent history of wage inflation, granted. But the UK pay structure has been revised downwards through a combination of lower market percentile targeting and at- or below-inflationary rises for 2/3rds of the population.

i wish people would use this board to share information and help out fellow consultants rather than prove how good they are at grammar and putting others down....1) if you don't want to reply to a post with a sensible answer - something revolutionary - don't post!!!!!!!2) if you want to correct grammar - get a job as a school teacher."Deloitted to make your acquaintance" thanks for answering the question and maintaining the point of this board

Hi Deloitted to make your acquaintance. You mention grim locations for public sector work. Im considering leaving ACN to join Deloitte in public sector area. Ideally I want a role in Newcastle area (grim to some, granted!). Can you confirm the public scetor clients and likelihood of location?ACN'er
