Hi,Quick overview:I graduated in a bachelors in business management 4 years ago. Since then I spent over year in a new venture and the last couple of years as a business improvement analyst in the civil engineering sector. Limited outside training:Although I started studying Prince2 in my spare time I have not taken the exams yet. Similarly I have some lean and project management certificates no internationally accredited qualifications of that kind. My concern:I thought taking a position as a business analyst in a global firm would help me in an eventual move to management consulting but I'm now worried that going with a civil engineering firm has pigeon holed me to an industry I'm not very interested in and the longer I remain the more this will be the case. I am also concerned that a move to consulting would put me back at entry level with these last years being essentially pointless.The questions:What is my best next move - should I remain in civil engineering and doing some qualifications in my spare time (any suggestions here appreciated) or is it better to cut my losses and move now to entry level at a consulting firm? Any help would be very gratefully received. I pulled a list of UK consulting firms but there are hundreds and I don't know the best approach from here.

Probably quite a lot.Why wouldn't a consulting firm find them useful?IMHO you're well placed enough for a move into consulting and not at the "entry level" grade. Yes you would probably be on the same kind of projects immediately but engineering a move into another industry isn't impossible
