Hi, could someone shed a light on how to stand better chances in strategy consulting?. I hold a PhD degree in Engineering (Cambridge) and I'm currently working in a medium-size consulting firm. My current firm, however, specializes at a very operational level (e.g. manufacturing operations) and I'd like to move to a much higher-aggregated level. I have applied to some big consultancies but have not succeeded even in getting an interview. In my CV and cover letter I capitalize on a) my numerical and programming skills from the PhD; b) the international experience and client engagement I have had during the last 2 years. Is my age (32) a big disadvantage? - Thanks in advance.
