I'm applying for a role with a small (and to me, unknown) consultancy. I'm attracted by the ethos, type of assignments and potential for greater work/life balance (e.g. local work) that is promoted in their literature. Assuming I am invited to an interview, can you recommend any essential information / key questions (e.g. re their business model, approach to utiltisation and reward) that will help me decide if it is the move for me or not? Many thanks

I am working since a couple of years for a small boutique-style strategy consultancy. There are indeed questions being more relevant compared to big groups. It is important to know for example :- Likely development track of the company (geography, type of projects, industries, etc.)- Client portfolio- Development of recent hires and their background- Character and therefore "ethos" of the consultancy founders When interviewing candidates I personally do like critical questions on my company, mixed up with a interesting discussion on the business model and examples of current projects.
