I am seeking career opportunities in Management Consultancy. I am in my mid twenties and have a 2:1 degree from a top tier university in Mathematics and a Masters (with distinction) in Operational Research. I have been working in Transport Consultancy since completing my Masters and as such am approaching three years experience this autumn. My present employer is one of the most respected Transport Consultancies and the numerous projects that I have been involved in are the closest we get to what I would consider ‘Management Consultancy’. I have been fortunate enough to of gained significant client exposure in both the private and public sectors. My work has also afforded me the opportunity to manage small projects and contribute to proposal writing.I am keen to avoid being pigeonholed as a transport consultant and this is one of my main reasons for seeking a new challenge. I am, however, aware that my experience of the transport field is one of my major selling points to potential employers. I have had considerable working relations with Management Consultants and am both inspired, and intrigued, by their approach to consultancy.Any advice re routes into the Management Consultancy arena (ie appropriate agencies, organisations that would suit etc) would be greatly appreciated.
