Hi everyone, this is my first post so I hope you guys can give me some advice.I'm a UK final year undergraduate, currently applying for graduate roles at various consultancies. I completed a summer internship this year at a big corporate.I was speaking to a friend yesterday who is mainly interested in IBD but is also applying to MBB, and he says that you're better off applying for an internship at any of the consultancies that offer it since there is less competition than for grad roles, and once you're in you can simply wait a year afterwards then join full time or perhaps join immediately after the summer if they have space (obviously assuming that you're lucky enough to get offered the full time role after the internship). However, I was always under the impression that there would be less intern roles than grad roles available, and they would think it strange that a final year was applying to internships. I know internships in IBD are more important for getting into that industry than in others. So I was hoping to get some opinions here on what is the better option: internship or graduate programme? I want to try and maximise my chances! Thanks a lot for your help!
