Hello,I'm a british grad student with AAC at A level, a BA and MA in literature, and a PhD in language & literature to be completed soon. I've been to three top UK universities and have some solid experience as a research assistant at Control Risks in west London. Does anyone know if there are any management consultancies that might look favourably on my ability to speak Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi (seeing that India's economy is thriving)? I'd really appreciate your views on this. Thank you.

There are many - Wipro, Infosys etc. all are trying to have some sort of consulting presence. I wouldn't go so far as to call them management consultancues though - they may have a very thin veneer over a predominantly commoditised code cutting operation. Of course, the likes of Accenture and IBM now have large operations in India.With regard to your Indian language abilities I think the benefit is likely to be marginal as most Indians speak English and it is the language of commerce and business there. I don't think your ability to speak one of the languages is going to influence a hiring decision in a major way however if you have an Indian background your ability to communicate with Indian staff ( more cultural nuances than language) may be looked upn favourably.
