The MCA awards were held last night. PA took home the most awards (3, I think?), and for the second year running, Atos walked away with two (and a "highly commended"). :o)There are some rather hungover people in my office today... Big surprise of the night was Deloitte getting absolutely nothing, and Accenture and IBM getting just one award each...

... but as usual no awards went to McKinsey, BCG or Bain no doubt? The credibility of the event suffers when such prominent names in the industry are sidelined. So my question is when will this deficiency be addressed?? Mike

As far as I know they don't submit projects for consideration.

I think PA took home 6 of the 19 top prizes.

Also, they're not members of the MCA. I think there is a strong bias to recognising member firms but not those outside a certain group.It seems to be quite political as well - I work for PA and, whilst I'm obviously delighted that we do so well at the awards, I don't think many people really believe that the projects that get the awards are the best examples of our work. There are loads of hard-working people who never have time to lobby and schmooze to get their work put forward.But anyway, congratulations to all award winners.

I too work for PA. The criteria used by the MCA for winning are very skewed toward us. The industry knows this, so few outside PA view these awards with much credibility. When you look at the client llist for PA (various obscure councils, and small rail companies) you can see that its not really all that impressive.

I've worked for central government, one of the biggest shipping firms, 3 global investment banks, 2 global FMCG firms and the largest telecoms firm in the world.I guess disillusioned may have failed to manage his or her profile in the firm... and so got the jobs we didn't wantOne of the problems with the MCA is the client has to be involved in the submission- my current client is doing something that has never been tried before and its going very well- but they are a glbal bank so they aren't going to take part in any publicity as their competitors aren't quite sure what we're up to yet. Thus lots of public sector jobs get recognised....
