Hi all,I consider to apply to the companies mentioned above for a postion in their strategy or business consulting workforce. Is there anybody out there with insights into the areas of:- actual work done in this groups- is the majority of projects IT or Business related- people- responsibility- salaryI would truly appreciate your help in finding out the differences. According their homepage, the service portfolio seems to be pretty similar.Cheers

Speaking from my experience at Accenture:- actual work done in this groups - Business consulting has heavy IT focus in areas I worked in, Strategy less so but much harder to get into- is the majority of projects IT or Business related - IT at junior levels in the firm, more business as you progress- people - great group of like minded people, very sociable place to work- responsibility - limited until promotion to consultant after 24-36 months- salary - Started on £28,500 and a £10,000 sign on split £6k first year, £4k 2nd year. Overtime was paid... not anymore and hence your hourly pay rate is probably below minimum wage!!! This has improved considerably however and there has been a bit drive to improve work/life balanceHope that helpsMalcolm

Cap's strats practice is mostly around selling Outsourcing deals. They deny it but it's true. There is some pure strats work but all very IT focussed.Deloitte are trying to build up pure play strats practice to compete with McK, Booze, Bain etc. Some interesting recent Partner hires to achieve this but they're not there yet. Less technology focussed as full consulting service lines and they do have the execution/delivery capability as well.
