Jeremy,Just checked our salary benchmarking report and the going rate is £50,300 basic salary plus an annual bonus of 14% of salary. This is based on data collected from over 1,000 consultants a couple of months&#39; ago. The term Senior Consultant is too vague to be meaningful. In IBM the term Senior Consultant roughly equates to AD in KPMG or PwC, or Manager in E&Y, or PC in PA. Expected salary for this level would be £60 - 70, plus 15% bonus, from what I&#39;ve seen

You&#39;re absolutely right about making sure you compare like with like. In our report we had 5 levels: Junior Consultant, Senior Consultant, Project Manager, Principal / Associate Partner and Partner. So the £50,300 relates to the second lowest tier of staff - senior consultants being defined as those with 3-5 years&#39; consulting experience.If you move to the next level, Project Manager, then base salary is £65,500.
