HiI'm in the process of applying to business school (LBS and INSEAD). My background, BA (2.1) Psychology (Trinity College), MSc (distinction) Neurobiology (U.of Edinburgh), PhD (U.of Edinburgh). I've worked as a post-doc in Italy (working Italian language skills) and London. I worked as a freelance analyst for a number of biotech consultancies and for large pharmaceutical company as a business analyst. I'm keen to make a move into consulting full time, post-MBA. I know that McK, LEK, and companies like Navigant focus on biopharma/healthcare etc, and I'd like to focus on these industries. Any views on my chances of getting a place at LBS/INSEAD and post-MBA chances of consulting?

Hi,I haven't had any experience with LBS&INSEAD in particular, but I think your story is interesting and your chances a very good. Getting a decent GMAT shouldn't be a problem for someone with your background, but it is still worth some attention. Your story is different because of your specific industry focus, and, from what I saw, this is what the schools are looking for. If you can tie everything together in a nice coherent package, complement with a decent GMAT and extra-curricular, I don't see why you wouldn't get an interview.Good luck!
