Little FT work going on at present - mainly public sector clients. Most of the FT new joiners (over the past two years) were brought in on bigger salaries than mosts, but were really done over in the latest pay round, mainly getting inflationary rises. If you want to do financial management consulting, I’d look at sending your CV to the Big 4 accounting advisory firms. They are more credible on your CV, and will offer more exciting, stimulating, international work – rather than re-engineering the Accounts Payable department of Southampton County Council
