Hello, I was wondering what if anyone could express some comments on PA consulting: are they a good place to be? What clients do they focus on? (ive heard its mostly government)How would they compare, lets say, to EY's new consulting division?Thank you!

Same question asked below. Please do other contributors the courtesy of reading at least the first few postings on the front page before asking the same query.

This posting is different to the one posted below. If YOU had read both, you would see that the below posting refers to a very specific situation, with a 5 year SAP experience query. The question above generalises the two companies between clients, prestige, work etc etc. SO please, do ensure YOU read both postings, before taking time off your busy day to post such an unconstructive reply.

What sort of an aggressive idiot are you? With that sort of attitude, it's very unlikely you'd get a job at any decent consultancy. Why don't you just crawl back under your rock ?

"....What sort of an aggressive idiot are you?...." well, very similar to you in that regard...face up to your insecurities - how about counselling? Taking pot shots on an anonymous message board is not the bravest or cleverest thing to do.

And its not all government! Its about 50-50 at the moment I beleive- there is a big government practise and the rest of us do get sold into government departments, but some of us have successfully avoided it- my clients have included shipping firms, banks, telecoms firms- and onlyone governemtn department... which was a, um, learning experience!PA has quite a quirky culture- I have been offered quite a lot more money be a client to join them, but I wouldn't leave, as despite its faults its very friendly, relatively reasonable about hours, personal commitments etc (though that does very much vary by practise) and I have never had so much fun at work.
