Hi,I've just been offered an interview at PA Consulting for the role of a Consultant / Consultant Analyst in the Public Sector area and was wondering whether anyone had any idea of the approximate salary ranges for such roles at PA?Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Expect low pay rises though. BOP pay rises this year for top end performers were about 3 - 4 %

Well I strongly disagree with "BOP Consultant". Firstly, I joined PA from the Big 4, and have never been so stimulated with and enthusiastic about my work. Secondly, PA's pipeline is bursting with potential clients, a healthy proportion of which is from the private sector. My advice to Curious George is to come along to interview and find out for yourself. By thw way, I think its obvious from BOP Consultant's lack of knowledge about PA's FMT service, that he doesn't even work in that space!

I joined PA from another leading consultacny in May last year. I started on an average salary, but having proved my ability and performed highly, I have received an excellent pay rise and bonus. Relative to the salary I left my last company on in May last year, I now earn £15k more and got a bonus of 3 or 4 times that I would have got at the last company.

Hi (chuggers)There are mixed feelings about PA from what I’ve read but i do have a keen interest to work for them and look forward to the interview. I have one shortly consisting of a 30 HR following by 1 hour discussion with a management consultant. Any idea what to expect and how to prepare? Your advice would be great. Thanks

Hi Reena, Hope this reponse isn't too late for you. It sounds like your HR insterview will be all about what we call the PAPI - basically personality profiling. It isn't as painful as it sounds! If you've completed it online before the interview, then this session will be to review your results. Really is nothing to worry about. The second interview will be a competency based interview. As the name suggests, these tend to focus on the competencies that are important to PA (haven't got a list with me I'm afraid). They are looking for specific situations where you have displayed these competencies. Make sure you structure your answers correctly (e.g. what was the situation? what did you do? what was the result?). Be concise and specific in your language. All our consultants are good guys, so I'm sure you'll be ok. Just remember, this is also your opportunity to form an opinion about PA!! Hope this helps. Good luck with the interview (if you haven't already had it!)
