This forum is only as useful as the comments that you all choose to post on it, in response to what are genuine requests for help.Maybe it's higher stress levels in consulting at present, but some of the replies being posted of late just don't do our profession justice. Could I kindly ask that replies be kept as constructive as possible? Thanks all.Tony

I think there should be separate grad / exp. hire sections.

I can see the merrits of this. However, grads can benefit from the experience of others and vice versa. Also, I'm not sure it's just the grads lowering the tone!

good point,Tony, I believe there should be a "block" of hyperlinks at the bottom of the page which allow you to sift through the hundreds of posts in the forum more effectively. For example, to access messages 150-160, you currently only have the option of clicking "Next 10-20", and you have to keep clicking this until you reach the desired page. Could you not introduce a block of links at the bottom. E.g. Block 1-50, Block 51-100, Block 101-150 and so on so you can shortcut to specific areas? Thanks

East Enda - thanks for the point. The useage stats for this part of the site show that most people come back to the page every couple of days to see the latest forum threads. So the old threads (ie. those several pages in) are only really there to be searchable through the text search box. Only if you hadn't been back to the site for a number of weeks would you need to go this deep into the forum.Anyone wanting to search through the archives will tend to do a keyword search for eg. "Accenture" to find all the threads relevant to that topic - and then they'll all be brought up on one page again. Hope that makes sense. Tony

TonyWould be hugely useful if the search did what you suggest. However currently it does not bring back all the threads. It only brings back the posts that mention the search term. This is not ideal because the search term is not always mentioned in every post. For example you can search on IBM. This brings back questions about IBM with no answers because the answer posts did not explicitly mention IBM. It also brings back answers that mention IBM but which make no sense without seeing the original question and all the posts in the thread.

I agree to - when you do a search it doesnt always make sense since only the post (rather than the thread) is displayed!May be an upgrade of this Forum would be good? Something like www.ittoolbox.com (and many other sites) would be good?Cheers
