Maybe this is nosy, but - who are Zambeasy?I see their name at the bottom of the forum, and also in any TC Emails, there's a Zambeasy T&C's.

John - way back when, in the midst of the dot-com era, we bought up lots of domains for businesses we might one day set up. Top-Banker, Top-Accountant, etc. We didn't want our company name to be Top-Consultant as this might end up being one of just many brands we controlled. Hence we had to come up with a company name to own all these internet brands. Zambeasy was what we chose, not our finest ever piece of business astuteness - but it's what the business that owns T-C is called. Nothing more mysterious or sinister than that! Tony

Understood. I suppose this was during the time of boo dotcom and so forth. Back when my dad said - "look at the news son, hi tech is the place to be", so I went and did a degree in Electronics :)Being in university has sort of protected me from the recession. It has been interesting to compare technology before i went into uni and now:back then:"one day we will have 3G - you will be able to see who you're talking to"now:only just 3G in metropolitan areasback then:the internet meant websites times new roman black websites - I remember the first thing i wanted to see on the internet was the evidence for the monica lewinski trial - connection speeds 56ktoday:mega super dooper broadband and skype, BT rolling out C21back then:wow windows xp - it totally beats windows 98 i love itnow:come on - where's vista????We can see some area in technology have taken off while others are stagnating.

the dot com boom really underlined the latency between marketing hype and the reality of "as-is" technological infrastructure....the massive investment needed in infrastructure needed to actually realise the progression promised at the time was really under estimated...

Well, i think you would have to agree that our technological changes in the last ten years are life-changing.If you watch a movie from the 80's for example - so many of the movies would be cut short if they just had a mobile phone and could call someone to come help them :)A quick heads up for a problem round the corner is one of security: with the proliferation of voip - the government is now challenged with not being able to actually listen into those conversations, due to encryption and so forth. Maybe we'll see to what extent the governemnt is protecting us from baddies by listening into their phone conversations - now that they can't!
