I have recently applied for a position with a consultancy.I have the following academic credentials:2:1 in economics from LSEAAB at 'A' Level; Maths, Physics, Chemistry10 'A' grade GCSE'sHowever, the HR department have raised concerns about the lack of any details on my CV around my performance at 11 plus level. They have request documentary evidence of my results and have asked my parents to prove a) when I took my first steps and b) when I formed my first sentence.Is this overkill?

I can't believe it, I recently got turned down for a role as they my grandfather's academics were too poor. I remonstrated the point supporting this with evidence that he was, in fact, fighting the war when maybe he should have been knuckling down to some killer economics reading. Is this elitest?

wow, this thread really strikes a chord with me...I was recently turned down (despite having all the right credentials) because my sister's au pair's accent is (according to HR) "a little bit too estuary for our tastes".....

I have received rejection letters for my as yet unborn children because I put a foot down in the shallow end on the way to my 50 metre swimming badge.
