Hi,Following on from the post about EY Advisory below, I'd just be interested to know your educated thoughts on KPMG and their Financial Advisory practice? How does it sit within the Big Four? What's the perception from EY, Deloitte and PwC? I'm thinking of applying for a Performance Improvement role, not sure if it's the right move? Thanks for your help!

They are the furthest behind in the Big Four "race" and show little signs of catching up with Deloitte, PWC and EY.Depends what you want to do - "real" advisory like PWC and EY or more integrated consulting (Deloitee)....KPMG are bound to make it but have a drier culture than people friendly stereotype at EY and hard driving PWC culture

Stuck in the Stone Age - no knowledge management infrastructure, no vision, no long term commitment, beancounters dressed up as consultants - their only asset is their brand

Thanks for that - pretty strong views! Is this from personal experience? How would I go about finding out more about KPMG financial advisory to see whether others agree with you?! From what I hear they seem to be expanding fairly quickly. Thanks again for your help

I think KPMG are a lot further behind building a practice than EY because they have got to wait longer before their noncompete agreement is up. They also only have a couple of people in advisory services from what I hear - a couple of complete teams migrated to EY Business Advisory enmasse. Perhaps just for the money, but it doesn't suggest they had a lot of confidence in KPMG's chances.

Certainly expanding headhunters pushing them hard. Not seeing them as real competitors yet tho, go for EY instead if you want a growing consultancy, they are starting to catch up!!

Forgive me being direct, but you seem keen to to ingore the constructive comments above.Very competitive between KPMG and EY at the moment but for all the reasons given I would consider EY a better prospect. But of course I would say that!
