Hi everyone, I've been offered a role within hitachis' consulting arm and was hoping to understand a little more of how they are perceived in the market and how a brand like hitachi would look on my cv. My future aim, believe it or not is to earn big bags of money! I don't know if that is in consulting or elsewhere yet...but being in consulting means I can do a lot of stuff before finding my thing (not quite there and not sure if I'll ever reach it!)Thanks guys

If you want to earn 'big bags of money' neither Hitachi or Consulting will get you there.

And Tesco sells loads of different things, so they could start a consultancy firm too. Tesco Consulting. Every Little (Bit of Performance Improvement) Helps.

London_consultantInteresting...I've been offered as part of the management consulting silo so any info you have about the types of engagements would be most welcome. When you say very techie do you mean a focus around IT delivery as oppose to the the more advisory (it strategy, ea, it op model, etc) types of work ? Also, as mentioned, Hitachi offer a whole bunch of different services, in your capacity as a consultant if your work external/internal or both? Finally any insight into the culture would be very useful. Thanks very much

This is not to say that there aren't any of the advisory-type projects you described, I haven't come across them though. With being more techie comes an atmosphere in the More London office that could certainly be described as being on the relaxed side, especially in comparison with some other larger places not too far down the road ;)

Rather late response... The management consulting arm of Hitachi Consulting is in essence what used to be Celerant Consulting (operations consulting, implementation focused, no IT whatsoever) until early 2014
