Just want to know what happens to low performers in the Big 4. Are they put on a performance improvement plan and given a timeline to improve? And what happens if improvements are not made - are they just fired or are they managed out by giving time to find another more suitable job for them?

Sacking someone in the UK is a pain in the bum and requires long and complicated processes. From what I've seen - the general technique when someone isn't "suited" is to mutually agree this along with a suitable cash payment for the employee to sign a compromise agreement and leave...

Yes, the annual review process will rank employees and those in the bottom bracket will be given 'performance plans'.

Not as mean as asking others to cover for the buffoons. There's not much as stressful as carrying team members who aren't up to it, either peers or managers.

Weak people should not be tolerated in the Big 4. They should be hunted out, beaten and ridiculed by the entire firm. The world was not built on weaklings....

Everyone here should be aware of the fact that there is little correlation between good performance and the the game. Many a person has been on the receiving end of a PIP because of naivety and not because of bad performance

Survival of the fittest! This is why organisations like the NHS are so wrong! Free medical to all is nonsense! Weak people - just like weak animals - should be left by the side to die. What we are effectively doing is......... weakening the human race.
