Likely to be called for a F2F interview at a client site where I used to be based working for my current employer for a contracting job.Still working for the consultancy at the moment and they are still onsite there so need a disguise in case anyone spots me in reception - any ideas?

either1. explain the situation to the potential employer and request an off site meeting2. have a cover ready in case identified in reception (eg a social connection with someone there). Have a newspaper or suchlike ready - its suprising how people don't question why you are where you are, if it looks like they would be interrupting you.or 3. speak to reception ahead of time and ask that you wait in a meeting room not reception

Like mars says, I think an off-site meeting would be best... otherwise you know what will happen, they'll take you to a meeting room for the interview and guess who will be just in the process of leaving the room?

Good points, I was hoping for suggestions of wigs and a fake mustache but I think your sensible suggestions are probably best!I was going to suggest offsite to him anyway but I can't think of anywhere suitable other than the local costa!

local Costa or similar is absolutely fine. In fact it can tell you more about the interviewer and the culture of the company how they behave in a Costa than a meeting room (who offers to buy the coffee for one, and don't trust anyone ordering a tchai latte)

Very good point about who offers to buy the coffee, if the interviewer doesn't insist then shame on them!

If you want a really good disguise, just go into the office dressed up like an enthusiastic and hard-working 22 year old. Nobody ever notices the hard workers.

@BEP - good one :))@OP -another important thing to note that...you should also find out who will be interviewing you..it is not necessary that only someone from client org. is going to interview you..many times, consultants works with the client to interview contractors who are joining the client team..so it is important for you to inform the HR about your concerns to avoid any such issues..

Thanks all - still waiting for the call back anyway!I know the culture of the organisation well, having been there with my currently employer for 3 years previously. I also know for sure that none of my ex colleagues will be involved in the interview!

Tried another contact there and popping in for a chat - he's too busy to come offsite so off to the shops for a fake mustache and wig it is!
