Hi Everyone,Great forum and there is a lot of information in here. It's a great community. I am a recent MBA graduate and would like to get into the Consulting space. I've already worked on several consulting gigs for myself and I really like it! Most of my experience is with IT and eCommerce, mostly related to Product and Market Strategies. I'd like to take it to the next level.I understand how competitive the industry is so I'm willing to work for free. I've sent my candidacy to all the large consulting firms, but have not received much feedback as they don't really respond to individual requests like this.In any respect, I'd like to ask the floor here, if you could offer some advice to a recent grad that is looking for a good firm that will take him on. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance,Mike

If you like product/ market stuff in ecommerce then why not go for a product manager job in that sector where there's loads of demand. Much brighter prospects IMO than consulting for an MBA.

Thanks for the response Alex. The work that I've been looking for has all been in eCommerce, but there is not much demand in my current market(Dublin). I'm the persistent type, but after 12 months of nothing but small projects and little interest from the local market, I realize that'm probably better off changing industry or moving. I just really think that it's time to make the move to consulting. I'd really like to get deeper experience with business problems and feel that moving to consulting will help me to achieve that.So could you recommend any consultancies that might be interested in talking to me. As I said before, I'm willing to work for free, and being a recent grad, I'm a really motivated worker.I'd be happy to hear from the floor, and about your experience. If need be, I can relocate. I read Restell and Kumar's Guide, and it's really a fantastic practitioners guide. Do you think that I'll have prospects in the UK?Thanks again,Mike
