Hi, I have been offered an internal consulting job at an insurance company (business improvement, programme management etc). However the notice period is 3 months. Would this likely pose a problem if I wanted to go back into consultancy? Do employers see it as too long?Thanks

No. Three months is entirely normal for positions that are a) more senior than five years out of university, b) not with "hire em, fire em" companies.Mirms want to know they can rely on a handover period (including finding a replacement) if you decide to leave. That's not an issue until you get to a certain level of seniority.

Try three months till the end of the quarter. Which means, if you hand in letter now in April, you could be asked to stay till end Sep. It's fair though, given that we do projects that can last for months.
