Cognizant supposedly tried to buy PA Consulting in 2009, but failed supposedly because the PA partners were too greedy Same story when SAIC tried to buy them in 2004.Now the jungle drums are saying that CapGemini are trying to take them over. Why would Cap want to buy an outfit associated with such failures as FireControl, the ID cards scheme, Terminal 5 baggage handling, and THAT memory stick?What are the guys in Paris thinking? Why would anyone want to buy that sinking ship?

I'd be surprised if that happened though it is possible - CG have the balance sheet. Motivation would be to achieve critical mass in consulting, which is still not a profitable division. There are lots of ex PA people in CG so the culture fits. CG has been really shafted on the public sector this year though so I can't see why they would look to acquire another public sector-heavy outfit. Probably a groundless rumour
