Preparing to be disappointed

What's the betting on this year's pool - despite poor utilisation (<50%) and the smallest profit in my time at PA, I think we may have lost enough people for the awards to be not completely risible...

All other things being equal, you'll be lucky to get half of last years bonanza.

Hope they handle the upcoming redundancies better than they did in 2009

We will see alan's friends rewarded in a manner that is entirely independent of their performance, a few of the usual Corporate overheads half-heartedly punished with low bonuses (but inexplicably still allowed to stay thereby continuing to drain the firm of cash), and an indiscriminate mix of losers (most) and winners (a lucky few) across those of us that earn the money in the practices.

I have to think Corporate are due for a cull - the size wasn't justified at 100MM profit before bonus and 1000 more staff. But it's all 'a'lan knows so probably wishful thinking...Wheels have come off PA faster than the UK economy, and that's saying something. Would be nice to call it just desserts for greed and an absence of leadership were my own prospects not getting sucked under with them.Time to milk whatever's left in the emaciated cow and scarper come April 1.

Wow!I have an offer with them. This thread is not doing a great deal to improve the likelihood I will accept it.

To offer holder, it is your call and your career. But please, seriously consider your options. This place is poisonous to work in and not great for future consulting moves - their reputation is deservedly trashed on this forum. As a private company they get away with chronically bad HR and some senior remuneration schemes that would make an investment banker blush. There have been some previous PA threads that will tell you all you need to know (and some even better ones that have been suspended)Up here a lot of staff upped and left to join a newly formed competitor organisation - and had the guts to give PA both barrels in the press (the company is known for putting on a lot of front with lawyers but mostly huff and puff to create the illusion they have a leg to stand on). Made great reading.

"Time to milk whatever's left in the emaciated cow and scarper come April 1."Wait until your money is in the bank in mid-April. Legendary story of one of the BOP staff resigning on April 1st and having her bonus taken back. Really a horrible place to work. It was good to see the BOP partners finally demoted.

Agreed, PA's model is set up to get consultant ranks in for 2 years, pay them nothing, work them to the ground until the get fed up and leave and then have the big boys take the profits for doing f a and then replace these punters by having another group of punters come in off the back of PA's reputation. Why do you think PA's staff turnover rate is so high!?

Hideous place to work - took me a long time to recover my health after being there. To the offer holder - please consider the risks carefully. The PA name was not a great one to have on the CV, recruiters didn't take me that seriously and I left consulting altogether. That said, I am happy not being a consultant now and having them work for me in industry!
