Cool news! hopefully it would give DC more focus and vision.I wonder if they are going to separate only the S&O practice and form a separate entity?! and the way they're going to cooperate with the rest of DC...

US press is treating this as a DC take over of RB, European press is talking about a merger :)Any views on how this may affect the two companies?PS. the proposed name is horrible!

Will this not lead to the same challenges as the Capgemini takeover of E&Y consulting business? Will it not erode the RB strategy brand which will be diluted in the Ops brand of Deloitte in the long run?

RB's compensation isn't great, and reputation has been on the out for many years. I imagine plenty of RBers will complain loudly but secretly be pretty happy. From Deloitte's view, this is all about quantity not quality, and nobody should have any delusions that this move will magically catapult the firm into doing strategy consulting in any significant volume. The cultural and geographical differences alone mean there won't be much real integration until long after most of the current employees have moved on.

Hey, fury, is your nickname a proof that you're really unhappy with the news ? 'Cause I can understand in such case... :-)Almost all RB consultants I talked to are not happy at all. Probably only the RB partners are glad with the move as it seems they'd be taking lead of a new bigger firm...

The nickname is from before this merger =)Don't really understand your reply, the RB partners have cancelled the merger after all- and RB employees are most likely happy to stay with the stronger brand name.
