Does anyone know if paid internships in the UK are taxable? I was told I'd be paid 500-600 sterling per month for paid internship, so I am wondering if this is net or gross or if it is at all taxable? Thanks

Are you not from the UK?All income is taxable/subject to National Insurance but this can vary significantly by the amount you earn (and at very low levels of income is 0 if i recall correctly). You get a tax-free personal allowance (generally the first 6k (approx), so given 5 to 600 pounds a month, if that were your only income then you probably won't be hit for too much. Thanks. I am not from UK, I am postgrad student and internship is only one day a week and it pays 500-600 pcm.
