Hello, I'm a current undergraduate engineering student at a highly ranked school. About 20% of engineering students here enter into finance or consulting. Anyway, I was looking at IB, but that's likely too competitive for me, and the hours look too brutal. I was also looking at Quant, but that's mostly for MFE/PHD grads, nothing for undergraduates. I know I don't want to be an engineer. The reason why I want to pick a field right now is because I want to know which way I need to go with clubs I join and such. Consulting clubs, or trading clubs. My big questions are...Which is more competitive to get into? Which allows for a more comfortable lifestyle (fewer hours, less stressful)? Which allows for the best future employment opportunities? Thanks guys.
