Hi,Does anyone has a clue regarding consulting jobs in France which don't require French Language Skills? What firms waive French language skills? I asked because I am an international student doing PhD, and thinking about a career shift. Thanks in advance!cheers

Very difficult I would say - even if you speak fluent French (which I do) unless you have French qualifications they're unlikely to give you much time. You'll probably also find that the PhD is not recognised as such in France, likewise MBAs etc, unless of course they're from a French school.Sorry to sound negative but it's not easy over here...best way is to exploit whatever connections you've got with French consultancies, but even then, there's a lot of unemployment.Bonne chance quand meme...

and judging by the intellect shown in the last comment, the UK education system still lags a long way behind the French one

Surely you will be fluent by the time you complete the PhD, if not well before? If your French was really too poor to get a job there once you finished, I'd seriously question why you'd want to live and work there.

I speak French barely enough to survive, but ofcourse, its not enough to get a job in France as business French require much higher level.I was thinking of getting a job in France because I think it will be easier for me compared to applying for a position in English-speaking country, as my univ and degree will be alien to them on top of visa issues.

Yes getting a job when you cannot even speak enough French to get through the interview will be much easier than getting a job in a language you can actually speak fluently. Now I know where I've been going wrong all these years...

If you haven't got the capacity or motivation to learn a foreign language to business level even after 3 or more years in a country, I'd encourage you to set your sights lower. Much lower. So - as I asked before - why is it that you want to live in a country in which your language skills are inadequate to function fully?

Why on gods earth would you want to work in France? Admittedly they do have some nice women but they are French not English. English is the international language of business globally but the French are the French and refuse to engage where possible in any other language unless it's French unless you are talking about CAP subsidies etc. You may however be in with a chance as there are thousands of them in London so they may be a few short in Paris. Bon chance!

"Non French speaking Consultant Opportunities" is the subject of this thread, which means are there any positions or companies that require ppl who don't need to speak french as their job requirements require them to deal in an international environment!! I know french don't like non-french speakers, so thats why I can't apply for 'any' position in France, just the one which don't require the french language skills which I understand are almost none.Applying to English speaking countries is also difficult because of the visa issues, as most companies don't want to hire non-EUs.I hope this post explains my situation more explicitly.

Forget it. No French language = no French job.The only exception is minimum wage temp jobs. No professional exceptions.I lived there for a number of years.
