I'm thinking if getting my CV professionally reviewed (perhaps even by TC!). I'm looking for a new IT strategy role but I'm also open to new opportunities as I'd like to try something different. Should I go ahead and get my CV updated so I hit recruiters with the best possible CV, or wait until I see something I want to go for then do the CV? Many jobs aren't advertised so I may never 'see' the role. I currently work a large IT services outfit, possibly interested to a move to Accenture, Big 4 but see that as a sideways move. I'd really like some niche opportunity where I'm not just a faceless body shopper.

Seems like you want a visionary to see your potential and take a chance on you.Surely thats worth the investment in a decent CV?I'm sure Tony can recommend someone, but yes yes yes, for goodness sake, this is your shop window, polish it.

Yes.I've never used a CV reviewing service as such, but I know how shocking the difference between a good(well?)- and badly-written CV can be.Never got an interview first time I applied to top tier consultancies despite strong (Oxbridge/PhD/science) academics. Applied again this year, with some experience under my belt but most importantly with corrections made by ex-MBB contacts. Got an interview so fast it made my head spin.

It is definitely worth getting your CV reviewed and designed professionally from both a formatting, and a content perspective - if you can't do it yourself. There is however plenty of resource on the Internet, and templates you can use. Bear in mind though that the templates won't necessarily help you with structure or content, but is a starting point if you don't want to go down the professional route. Good luck!Jimmie Danielswww.itbodies.co.uk
