I'd like to go to the TC careers fair but my employer will be there also, how do I handle this? Hide and hope I don't bump into them? They keep making people redundant (I think I'm safe though) so they can't really complain if their employees are looking around can they? Anyone got experience of this?

Just have a plausible back story - with friend/date/wife/whoever who wanted a look, came by to catch up on the banter with a mate at x firm grab a few beers etc etc.

volunteer to assist at your employer's stand then go walkabout 'to sound out the competition'
