Hi,I have 4 years tier two consulting experience from grad level (well respected firm in my field). In the next 12 months I was planning to make a move to an industry role. I feel like I now have some valuable skills and experience to both be of value in industry and able to return to consulting at a later date should I choose. However, I now have an opportunity to move to Booz. Assuming I accept - would the additional experience/brand enhance my ability to get a better industry job in two years time with quicker progression etc? Or would I be looking at the same jobs in two years as I am now?My second concern is around culture. I currently enjoy the working environment at my firm. It is fairly relaxed with a good mix of people (ie not all oxbridge grads and international MBAs). Having once worked on an engagement with a number of McK consultants, I felt almost all of them lacked people skills to be frank. Should this be a concern? What are the common challenges that face tier 2 consultants moving to MBBB? Is Booz particularly different?Any advice here would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Booz is notorious for chewing up new entrants at either grad or MBA level; they have a very harsh up or out approach to life. I have a number of friends who are ex BAH and have ended up with massive stress levels and health problems, leading inevitably to a downward spiral of performance and health. When you eventually decide to leave, they will however treat you like a king as they massively value their alumni as a sales network. If you are under thirty and single, then take the Booz job, work your tail off for 18 months and then move to industry at least one management grade and 15K better off, and with the Booz name on your CV forever. If you are over thirty or have a young family that you’d like to see face-to-face, then I suggest the move straight to industry.
