Does anyone know anything insightful about Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in London. I've been contacted about a senior role in their public sector practice and would appreciate feedback from anyone who has interacted with them in the last couple of years. The head of TCS Global Consulting Practice is an ex-PA Consulting partner.Of interest are culture, how client focused they are and anything else of interest.

well, last year i worked with TCS on their one big public sector engagement. TCS was in that instance made up of a number of contractors coming in under a TCS umbrella and then a number of offshore bodies providing more of the techy support. They were incredibly difficult for the client. And quality of both their work and people was somewhat questionable. But it has been 8 months since I had that experience, maybe things haver changed... after all they do have and ex PA consulting man in charge....(he typed as he tittered).

Hey, don't knock the council. Very easy work and the pay is OK. Always leave at 5.00pm the dot. Final salary pension. No stress. Parking space. No travel. Family friendly. Secure job - job for life. Love it!

Their public sector consulting team is run by a pretty switched on guy although the UK Head of Public sector has just left which is a bit of a downer. The consulting side generally is not bad but a bit “Wild West”: if you are happy with ambiguity/chaos/baptisms of fire then go for it. Definitely a bit Tier 2 though. Like most Indian firms they grapple with centralising/decentralizing control. Their recruitment side is shockingly bad.
