How much do Partners earn per year? £200k, £300k, or more?

I'd like to talk about string. How long is your average piece?

Would be keen to know this as well. I have heard at Accenture they start on about £200k (full package) but I'm not sure how that would progress after 5 or 10 years (maybe to £500k?).

Partners come in all shapes and sizes. If you mean traditional Big 4 accounting firms entry point partner is c£300k, next level is c£500k. (total package) Don’t know re IBM but the other ex Big 4 and other similar IT services firms pay £130-£160 base (£200-£300 all in pkge) for Practice Leaders. I have no idea re strat. firms!

Anyone got figures for ACN? I know they have level 4, 3, 2, 1 but not sure of figures.

Not accurate. Average profit per Partner is around 900k. This does not equate to a salary.

Yeah, probably a small fortune of that goes on those glamorous offices with the shiney tinted windows

@ DCFI know it scary isn’t it. An 80’s boy band famously did not understand the difference between gross and net. Their manager told them 20,000 people had spent £20 each to see them at Wembley, so they all went out and spent £400,000 the very next day. They were amazed to hear their share of the profit was about £20K each. They were bankrupt within a year.Clearly yesterday’s boy band are today’s junior consultants.

'Average' Partner earnings is around 500k. This includes the number of junior Partners and the ones who are on around 200-300k and the ones who clearly earn £1m+ (e.g. Ian Powell, MD of PwC in UK earns approx £3m).Partners are not contracters like the post above says, and as for Accenture there are approx 9 sub levels of Partner (starting around 180k base)

Do salaries of 2-300k enable q high standard of living in somewhere like London? In Scotland if you're on 100k you can live very very well buy the impression I get is that in London if you want thf house, the cars and the lifestyle you'd want as a 'high earner' you need to be on banker money.

Depends where you want to live... but £200k a year won't be enough to afford a house in a fasionable area, if that's what you mean. Forget Notting Hill, for that matter don't even think about Clapham... £600k won't even get you a 3 bed terrace in Balham. Stay on the Northern Line, perhaps you can afford to get off in the somewhat unlovely area of Tooting - ?Even sky high salary = modest house in modest area. One built for a City clerk, perhaps. So you either move out or go for something smaller (depending on age and where you are in life) or you live somewhere unfashionable. Such is London. Still worth living here though.

So how much would you need to earn in London to drive a nice car and live in a detatched house with a garden, plus wife and kids within good commuting distance of the city? Seems like £250k plus which only a fraction of consultants will ever earn!

I don't think detached houses with gardens exist in London any more. Haven't they all been turned into flats?Basically wanting a nice house in London (excluding the likes of Buckingham Palace) is like wanting a home with a scenic coastal view in Birmingham - they just don't exist.Streatham, Balham, and all those other 'south circular' type places are generally dumps. When my friends from outside London come to visit, they can't believe how shabby and sleazy looking the place is.

That's a different question. My company will sort me a decent car for £400 a month. I can buy a detached house in a decent suburb / on the outskirts for £400-500k. That sort of lifestyle is do-able on £80k or so.

There are a core of partners in PA who regularly get 500k + bonuses on top of their salary. The highest paid partner in PA in 2009 picked up a £2.2 million bonus. Get to the top at PA and the money starts rolling on.

I think there is money in consulting for the 1% that get to the very top but I've never met a management consultant who drives a Ferrari because by the time you earn enough to afford one you're about 50!
