Outsourcing is a big growth area in the firm right now, so I think the opp's would match that. Although not in consulting, you would work across the firm, so big chance of moving round if you are any good. Its a good company

Mobilisation is seen as the consuslting arm of Outsourcing, it is project based like consulting and is seen as different from the regular services folk due to its specialised work. Mobilisation people usually end up working alongside consulting on engagments, they are very good and respected. The team size has shrunk recently which is probably why there is a recruitment drive for experienced hires, there is a tonne of transition work going on at the moment. Mobilisation has been around for quite a while now but not sure on the future for the team..I guess the fact that they are extremely busy at the moment is a good sign though...

In response to ACN, mobilisation is not seen as Consulting. They are services and do not follow the same progression path.Level B would be equivilent of C3/M1 in Consulting.

That's not correct. Level B is equivalent to all levels of Manager in Consulting. And what ACN said is quite correct, that it is the consulting arm of Outsourcing, albeit in the Services workforce.

I'm sitting next to three of them now. They are categorically Services.Level B is considered Mgr in Services (further proof they are not Consulting!) however, their bill code ranges from same as entry level C3 to M2 for very top. This is the most scientific way of verifying level alignment.

Basically the Services career model is different from Consulting. Comparing apples to oranges when it comes to levels and compensation. Me2 is correct that billcodes are the most meaningful comparison, however again some B's will come in at high (A / SM) comp levels (and charged out accordingly) due to specialisation but stay longer at B due to the org pyramid.

I disagree that bill code is the most scientific way to measure it. Bill code reflects the cost to staff, and therefore will be lower for the equivalent grade in Solutions and Services because of the generally lower comp. (Incidentally, I didn't say that mobilisation wasn't in the Services workforce - I said it was the consulting arm of Services). A Solutions M1 might have a bill code lower than many C3s, but they're still a Manager.I'd also add that Level Bs get the car allowance, bonus scheme etc that is only available to Manager and above in Consulting.Anyway, I'm not sure what the disagreement is now, since you've now contradicted your previous point and said that Level B is Manager in Services... which was my point, and contrary to your earlier statement that it was equivalent to C3/M1.
