I have received a job offer from a well known company and they have sent me the offer on email.They have asked me to give my acceptance on email.I have asked for a hard copy to be sent over to me, they said they will do but that it will take time and want me to accept the emailed offer and resign from my company.They want me to join soon and have offered to buy out my notice period.Will this cause any problems if I accept email based offer or is it the norm now ? Do I need to be cautious ?They say that they will give me a hard copy of the offer when I join and I can sign it then.

that's absolutely normail, I joined Accenture in 2007 excatly in the same way i.e. accepted e-mail offer and signed paper work on 1st day of induction programme.

The email version is as valid, and offers you the same contractual protections, as a hard copy, no need to be concerned.Congrats on the new job.
