That is the correct grade structure. I can't tell you exact pay rises on promotion to each level - indeed the way it works at IBM is you can be promoted without a pay rise at all. The bands overlap an awful lot as well - nothing concrete but from experience it is something like this (experienced hires tend to be at the higher end, long-term employees who weren't grads tend to be at the lower end hence band 7s earning less or little more than some new grads)Band 5) 27 - 32Band 6) 27 - 40Band 7) 27 - 50Band 8) 40 - 60Band 9) 55 - 90Band 10) 70 - 110Band D) 100+

Anon, are those percentage pay rises? Or, more likely, actual salaries? What currency?

Sorry, yes, they are rough salary bands (and I mean rough, just from what I know).I don't really know rises at each level - all I do know is that promotion and payrise in IBM do not necessarily go hand in hand

Snakebite - do the math. If the first 3 bands start at the same number then you would expect increases to be p*ss poor and the upper ranges to be offered as a sweetener to experienced hires to band them accordingly. You can't skip a band so my guess is the first significant jump in income is between bands 8 and 9. This is the usual sort of hamster wheel salary policies the big SIs like to implement - hurrah you're now a Senior Consultant, here's a 10% payrise, market conditions and all that...
