Which would you say is a better brand: Accenture or Ernst & Young?

I would go for E&Y. The other one reminds me too much of Tiger Woods being chased down the driveway by a woman trying to hit him with golf clubs because of his cheating ways.

It has to be Accenture every time: stuffy accountants Vs people with great advertising...besides which I recently had a meeting with Accenture and they had a technologically advanced 'blue-sky thinking suite'...completely superficial, but looked nice.

if they were dogs, Accenture would be a staffie while E&Y would be a wheezy labrador

I think it comes down to doodling in the end.. E&Y have a nice ampersand which you can swirl and play around with, or replace with your own version, Acn has that little arrow which you could then extend into more arrow etc. Decisions decisions.

I like Ernst because it doesn't have a vowel yet remains pronouncable. Also sounds like the nose my computer makes when it encounters a serious software fault.

Would be a funny line if only "E" wasn't a vowel?!

It's a bit like asking which is the best brand, Armani or Gieves & Hawkes? It depends on your values.Off the cuff I'd say each brand says to me...Accenture - big, brash, great training for graduates, lot of big IT and outsourcing projects. Minimal empowerment in middle ranks and low level of client engagement (hired to do the plumbing). Good prep for a move into a middle manager IT job at a client. Make partner if you're an animal and sh@ft your mates.EY - More advisory, smaller more senior engagaments, PWC-looky-likey, Deloitte-wannabee. Bit stuffy, but more chance of upgrading to MBB. Make partner if you're clever and sh@ft your mates.(Being a bit tongue in cheek - there's the odd clever middle manager at Accenture and I personally know some very geeky EYers))

Maybe E&Y wins because it has more words in the name? And Deloitte is looking more and more like an Accenture wannabe than EY is looking like a Deloitte wannabe.
