I applied 10 jobs in last 3 days, no calls or e-mail received as yet. My CV is flashing so would expect to attract many. But surprised to see the response. Can someone mention what's going on. My contract is due to expire in end may and it will not be extended as the project which I was managing is over.regdsanon

Could you expand upon your 'flashing' CV please, sounds irresistible?

billum,You should be ashamed of yourself. Every consultant should know how to make their CV flash. Clearly you have never worked in an MBB environment.Open your CV in WordSelect AllClick on Format then Font then Text EffectsChoose "Las Vegas Lights" and hit Enter.Voila - a CV that will make the day of any headhunter. To the OP - can't understand the poor response - the "job market" (there is only one in London that covers both perm and interim across all industries and levels of seniority) is booming. We were all made redundant a few months back, but we were all re-hired last week. Can I suggest that a slightly more targettd question might prompt a more useful response?

Mr Cool - my CV merely twinkles discreetly... more Blackpool after an EDF outage than Las Vegas

I use Garamond 12 point font and only use italics when I really feel daring...

Can any one explain where in word the Las Vegas Lights option is. I found the Night Sky text formating option.

@anon - unless you're being even more subtly sarcastic than mr cool, which I very much doubt, then I am afraid I need to step in with a reality check: not all of us were re-hired last week. In fact, some of us won't be re-hired until next week. So clearly the job market is not booming. In the meantime, why don't you try hitting Alt-F4 on your browser to ensure your application emails get sent faster? Also, congratulations to the project you were managing.

Hi Mr Interesting,Garabond italic in 12 pt - wow! I just tried that on my CV and it made it look like the entire document was handwritten. Bound to impress!

Yes, could be the CV that is letting you down. What sort of paper do you print it on when you e-mail it through? Lots of people make the mistake of sending it on poor quality paper, which does not travel well electronically.Try reapplying but with your CV on a heavily embossed e-mail attachment.

With this website you can create a font out of your own handwriting. Print your CV in a scrawly biro style and it will look personal and really stand out.http://www.yourfonts.com/
