Hi all,Just wanted to ask some career type advice from those of you who have already lived it. I'm currently at the start of my consulting career and really enjoying it frankly. However I have always had the belief that I will one day definetly go back into education to study a Masters/MA/MSc. My undergrad was Art History and I would hope to study something more "business world" (what a loose term that is!) related subject at a well respected uni, i.e oxbridge level.I suppose I wanted to know how common is this process? Do many people leave work for a year to return to studying? Would taking a year out effect my employability, I'm starting to think that it might? However I am also thinking the leverage of 3-4 years of high performance at a consultancy firm alongside a masters from oxbridge could actually set me up for a great position in another firm?Thoughts? Opinions? Bring me down to earth?! :D

'definetly' could be a typo, but 'effect' is unforgivable

Let's try to keep the ratio of useless answers to useful answers under 5 even if it is a Friday. NickEY - some people with prior consulting experience do take MBAs to try and break into the MBBB. However the subject matter is far removed from your typical Art History curriculum. Bear in mind (depending on the specific course) it is mostly case studies, econometrics and modelling, and is very very intense. One step down from that are the various Masters in Management or Business studies (Cass, et al) which are nice from a theory perspective but less desirable.Figure out what your target firm & position is, find out which of the MBA factories they recruit in, and go for it.

Thanks for the reply someguy, and to the others I really don't see the point of attacking any grammatical or spelling errors on the internet unless you've got something worthwhile to add to the topic, does my spelling make you unable to answer the question... no. Again, thanks for the reply someguy.
