Hello everyone,I hail from Canada, and I wanted to ask you for your thoughts on getting into the PwC Strategy Consulting practice in London.I currently have 2.5 years of full-time work experience (all in Canada): 2 years in the PwC Corporate Tax practice (left just after being promoted to Manager) and half a year with a global information & media company as a Product Manager. After this brief stint as a Product Manager, I will be returning to the PwC Corporate Tax practice in Canada as a Manager. The Partners have recommended me for a secondment to the Performance Improvement practice in Canada, and will support me in a transfer to the Corporate Tax practice in London next year. I have been an above-average performer at PwC thus far.My questions are: How likely is it for me to be able to transfer into the Strategy Consulting practice from the Corporate Tax practice in London? My fear is that few people see the co-relation between tax consulting and strategy consulting – and I don’t blame them, as tax is an area that few people really understand. However, I hope that my experience as a Product Manager and the secondment to the Performance Improvement practice would help somewhat.Would it help to write the reciprocal exam to obtain the ACA? I am already a Canadian Chartered Accountant and hold a Master’s degree in accountancy from a top school in Canada. If not the ACA, what about a part-time MBA while I’m in London? What level would I join at? I’m a Manager in Canada, but will likely be downgraded to Experienced Senior Associate in London, as is often the case for tax staff that transfer between jurisdictions.Note that there isn’t really a “true” strategy consulting practice within PwC Canada, and I would prefer to stay with PwC in the long-run. It seems like there are quite a few other PwC-ers on this forum... any help is much appreciated!Regards,PwCer83
