how likely (and this question goes out to RC's too) is it to move into consultancy without a formal education? It seems to be a pre-requisite Should no BA or 1st Class honours put me off trying (I strongly dislike wasted effort)

if you've achieved mightily in another field despite your lack of education e.g you are an archbishop or colonel, then verily might thou transfer thy skills. otherwise forget it, my son.

Frankly it will depend heavily on where you have worked, in what role, in what industry etc. Compare and contrast: a senior banker, ex Goldman, no degree but knows everyone who is anyone, has the cache and is quality assured by his time at Goldman etc. Probably hire if at a senior enough level where he can make his networks and contacts count. Mid level supply chain chap, good exp across several JIT sectors, but no degree. No hire.
