Hi consultants, I've got a very basic question. If I apply for a position in a country where English is not the official language (i.e. most European countries) should I present a resume and cover letter in English or in the local language? I'd be inclined to submit documents in the local language but for MBBs, and some others, the recruitment online forms are all in English, which gets me wondering.thanks

Just call up the HR department (or the person in charge of hiring) and ask!

There is no point in submitting applications in a language you don't speak. If it is not clear what language they want responses in and you can't speak to them (as cj suggests) then my advice is submit it all in English unless you speak the language in which case I would provide copies in that language.

This feels like it is being made much more difficult than it needs to be. Check out their website and see what language that is in. Phone them and ask. Use your common sense.
