Well, the IT nerds at accenture should have thought about splashing on a non-celeb, highly-sexed, sportsman on their multi-million adverts in airports, papers etc...What planet is ACN on? Did they not think that if Tiger messes up it would be embarrassing? This was often discuss amongst us mere mortals for years...

I would be interested in knowing if they had carried out a thorough risk analysis. I would also be interested in finding out more about how they go about planning their large-scale IT projects. In addition, I can see this spawning all sorts of jokes of the "90% this, 10% that" type.

Role Model
03.12.9 00:00

Nothing to do with consulting, but anyway -Am I in a minority of one in thinking that Tiger Woods has never been a 'role model' - moody, mardy and only ever happy when things are going his way? If my son conducted himself like TW I'd be devastated.Thierry Henry - the second of the 'Gillette 3' the same - forget the handball - just evidence of what he's really like... my memory is of the Champions League final when the Arsenal keeper got sent off early - Hleb and Lljunbeg(?) nailed themselves for the cause and all Henry did was sulk and moan at his team mates...And Federer - OK for now but very Woods-like in his tendency to sulk when it's not going his way.Not really their fault - they can act as they please, but why do people get taken in by all this? And one last thing... why does Roy Keane still have a job in football? He deliberately set out to end someone's career and then bragged about it in a book - still lauded as some kind of hero/role modelThere, said it.

Do you really think company CEOs / CIOs / CFOs / COOs / IT and Change Directors and the like hire Accenture because the company has a certain moral position on monogamous relationships? They hire Accenture because it delivers high performance results. In the year after his knee surgery I think Tiger is still leading the money list (or whatever its called) on the PGA tour. You can wretch about the cliche'd language above, but you get the gist nonetheless. (And if you're a C-level exec with a proclivity to nightclub hostesses, you might even think Tiger deserves particular kudos for being at the top of his game, having a bit on the side (or a few bits), and still keeping his wife happy (at least for a while)).

yeah, yeah, blah, blah...to the post above re who really gives a toss.Fact is that using a mascot who potentially becomes a laughing stock is an embarrassment to ACN."When in the wild: 10% thinking, 90% mating. We know what it means to be a Tiger"

"act is that using a mascot who potentially becomes a laughing stock is an embarrassment to ACN. "You think THAT is the only embarrasement to ACN? I know a few senior managers and S.E's that have been caught (or close to it) doing that kind of thing with employees.Let's not even begin to cover their many failed projects.

have you seen the 'companionship' tiger chased after ( apparently having a blonde swedish wife wasnt enough for him). They are really something. So congrats to him. That will be me someday.

Putting the title of the FT article to one side, note that while Gatorade, EA Sports, etc. are backing Woods, Accenture is not. New branding for 2010 methinks.http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/f1b6ce34-e101-11de-af7a-00144feab49a.html

Even Gatorade appear to be dropping Woods now and they don't have the sensitive history Accenture does around ethics, honesty, compliance, etc.http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/lawrence-donegan-golf-blog/2009/dec/08/golf-tigerwoods1
