Boston Consulting Group (BCG) was named a Leader in a new report entitled The Forrester Wave™: AI Consultancies Q1 2021.

According to the report, released today, “BCG stands out for helping clients make difficult and large transitions.” In particular, Forrester recognizes BCG for its performance during the pandemic, stating, “When clients retrenched in 2020, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) didn’t. Instead, they leaned into and accelerated timelines and demand while leading clients to new and innovative states….BCG maintains tight collaboration and communication on engagements and is flexible and adept at moving beyond these hiccups to get the companies back on track for successful transitions and upskilling. Enterprises of any level of AI maturity can expect BCG to put them on the AI journey and get the value, differentiation, and competitive leap that an AI investment expects.”

Providers That Matter Most


The report provides an in-depth look at “the 13 providers that matter most.” In the report, independent research firm Forrester Research defines the AI consultancy market as, “… service provider firms that bring a holistic approach across people, process, technology, and data science to help enterprises transform with AI-driven systems and experiences for competitive advantage.”

Forrester evaluated 13 AI consultancies based on 26 criteria that were grouped as current offering, strategy, and market presence. BCG received the highest possible score in four out of five of the subcategories in the Strategy category. Participating vendors were deemed Challengers, Contenders, Strong Performers, or Leaders. BCG was placed in the Leaders category. BCG also received the top score possible (5.00) in the Delivery sub-criteria of Data Management, Engineering Talent, Design, Testing, Deployment, Delivery, and Operations, and Client Transformation; as well as in the AI Deployment criterion of the Market Presence category.
